GND Property Inspections
NSW Regulation-AS4349.1- 2007
Did you know?
More than 50% of inspectors doing pre-purchase property inspections in NSW are not builders and are not insured which is legal, according to the Australian standard AS4349.1- 2007.
The Building Inspection industry in NSW has been deregulated since 2009. There are still many unlicensed and uninsured inspection companies operating. Don’t get caught out, this could cost you thousands.
Considering that the building inspection industry is currently unregulated in NSW with no licensing requirements whatsoever, and there are unfortunately many unqualified “building inspectors” offering lower cost “building inspections”, buyers requiring pre-purchase-inspections prior to the expiry of the contractual cooling-off period or auction certainly run the gauntlet.
Would you trust a tiler, or even a truck driver or hairdresser to conduct a professional building inspection on your new property? Many people unknowingly do – don’t be one of them.
